The annual public gathering of Krishnamurti Foundation India will be held at Krishnamurti Study Centre Sahyadri, Pune during the period November 18—22, 2008. Your participation is most welcome.
INTENTION / PROGRAMME
The purpose of this gathering is to come together to explore the Man-Nature Relationship in the light of Krishnamurti’s teachings. The programme includes chanting, silence session, Krishnamurti’s video talks, group dialogues, lectures, evening walks and cultural shows.
VENUE
The gathering will take place in the campus of Sahyadri Education Centre of K.F.I. located in the picturesque valley of the Bhima River on a 140-m hilltop plateau of the gently sloping Tiwai Hill, 25 km as the bird flies from Bhima Shankar, the source of the Bhima River, in a remote hamlet in interior Maharashtra. The landscape and the climate make for an ideal place for retreat and inward exploration.
ACCOMMODATION
Participants will be accommodated in the hostels of the Sahyadri School spread over the campus. Each hostel has several dormitory type rooms and a cluster of toilets (Indian style) and bathrooms. About seven to ten participants will share a room. Men and women will be accommodated in separate dormitories. The rooms are furnished with beds, cupboards, tables and chairs. The dormitories are fitted with wire mesh to prevent the entry of insects and mosquitoes. Groups can be accommodated together if they so request at the time of registration.
FOOD
Wholesome vegetarian food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea, coffee and snacks will also be available.
WEATHER
Climate at Sahyadri is moderate with day temperatures around 30oC. A good breeze turning sometimes into strong winds always keeps blowing. Light woollen clothing would suffice.
