INTENTION
The purpose of this gathering is to come together to explore the fundamental issues of life in the light of Krishnamurti's teachings.

 

PROGRAMME
The programme includes chanting, silence session, Krishnamurti's video talks, group dialogues, lectures, seminars, evening walks and Yoga sessions. Except for video shows all the other programmes will be in Marathi. However the contents of the videos will be explained in Marathi.

 


ACCOMMODATION

Participants will be accommodated in the hostels of the Sahyadri School spread over the campus. Each hostel has several dormitory type rooms and a cluster of toilets (Indian style) and bathrooms. About seven to ten participants will share a room. Men and women will be accommodated in separate dormitories. All the rooms are furnished with beds, cupboards, tables and chairs. Bedding will be provided. Hot water for bath will be available. Windows of all dormitories are fitted with wire mesh to prevent the entry of insects and mosquitoes. Groups can be accommodated together if they so request at the time of registration. A limited number of double rooms are also available. Each double room has a separate toilet-bathroom unit (Western style) attached to it. The double rooms are located slightly away from the programme venue. In case the participants have difficulty with the Indian toilet, commode chairs will be made available in the dormitories.

 

FOOD
Wholesome vegetarian food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tea, coffee and snacks will also be available.

 

WEATHER
Climate at Sahyadri is moderate. In the month of May, maximum day temperature is around 38oC. A good breeze turning often into strong winds always keeps blowing. Sometimes the pre-monsoon showers considerably bring down the day temperatures.

 

FACILITIES
Laundry, tuck-shop, post-office, telephone booth, medical aid and a bookshop containing Krishnamurti's books, audio/video tapes are available on the campus.

 

ARRIVAL / DEPARTURE

The participants are expected to arrive by the evening of 22nd May and depart after morning breakfast/lunch on 27th May. Extra stay is possible before and after the gathering and will be charged separately.

 

TRAVEL
The Sahyadri campus is 70 km away from the city of Pune , off Pune-Nasik Road . It is 26 km from Rajgurunagar (Khed) and 4 km before the village Wada. Pune is linked to all the major cities of Maharashtra by railway. Regular bus service to Pune is available from almost every town in Maharashtra . Arrangement to pick up the participants in a group from Pune will be made. The participants will be informed about it after they register for the gathering.

 

REGISTRATION
The non-refundable registration fee of Rs. 1,180/- (for dormitory) and Rs. 1,630/- (for double room) will be charged per person. It includes lodging, boarding, study material and once pick-up (only in a group) and drop to Pune. The fee is non-refundable. However for some reason if the participant is not able to attend the gathering, he may send a substitute person or get his fee transferred to one of the study workshops only once provided he informs the organisers accordingly latest by 10th May 2008. The registration fee will be refunded if your name does not get registered because of lack of space. The registration fee may be sent by demand draft or postal money order payable to Krishnamurti Study Centre Sahyadri at Pune along with the registration form duly filled in. The confirmation of registration along with the other relevant information will be mailed to you within one week of receiving the fees. Charges for extra stay are Rs. 200/- per day per person. The participants can pay these charges on their arrival at Sahyadri.
For persons working outside India , the charges are US $ 46/- for dormitory, US $ 64/- for double room and US $ 10/- per day per person for extra stay. 

 

REGULATION
Smoking, consumption of alcoholic beverages or narcotic drugs and eating of non-vegetarian food is not permitted in the campus.
